Review On: Xiaomi Mi Mix 3

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 deserves an entry in the smartphone’s industry of the 100% screen-to-body ratio. The Xiaomi Company has not only tried to fill 93.4% of the front-facing body screen but also implemented a yesteryear design trick of sliding the screen down so as to expose the selfie camera.

The Design, Display, and Specifications

Currently, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 release date remains unknown in the UK and US. However, the UK citizens were told to expect the handset to arrive early this year. Hopefully on January or February. There is also no price tag in the US and UK but it is already available in China.

The biggest feature of the handset is the sliding functionality. One will have to use a little force so as to move and click things in place. A clunking sound is also released when one slides the display up and down.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ with a resolution of 2340 by 1080 and has an AMOLED display. There are drawbacks that come with the sliding design. As a result, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 becomes heavier than other handsets. Its weight is 218g unlike the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 which weighs 185g

It is a little bit early to predict whether the sliding mechanism might wear out after prolonged use. The Xiaomi Company confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 will not have an IP rating for dust and water resistance though it is not yet confirmed whether the sliding mechanism is weatherproof.

The phone is a bit thicker than the other usual smartphones but it can still fit in the pocket.

 

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 us a fully stocked device that meets the requirements of the flagship phones. It is driven by a Snapdragon 845 chip with either 128GB or 256GB. This comes hand in hand with 6GB and 8GB RAM respectively. The UK will only receive the 6GB/128 GB configuration. There will also be a 3,200mAh battery and the handset will support the Qi wireless fast charging at 10 Watts

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has all the specifications needed to win the flagship. The only thing left to determine the fate of the device is the sliding mechanism.
